Cento Per Cento or “a hundred for a hundred” (100% Sangiovese) has high tones of cherry, plum and fresh cut young roses anchored by sagebrush, dust, and whole cluster baking spices. Full of flavor yet light on its feet, it's great with classic Italian dishes like pappa al pomodoro and pizza. Cento per Cento shines on its own, best shared amongst family and friends.

ROSÉ OF DOLCETTO+SANGIOVESE

ROSA

750ML | $20

CASE | $220

Rosa is a textured rosé blend of Dolcetto from Allegre Vineyard in the middle of the Hood River Valley, Sangiovese, and a hint of Muscato. 2020 proved to be a cooler year and its vineyard told me it was ready to make a beautiful rosé. I put all of my eggs in one basket and went for it. Some of the grapes were pressed immediately, some were pressed after four days on the skins, and the Sangiovese was sangneé from the Cento Per Cento. I blended them back together to find the balance of acid and structure. Good for a summer lunch al fresco.

Il Nido is Italian for, “The Nest” as this Sauvignon Blanc vineyard is perched in Underwood, Washington overlooking the gorge. The grapes were picked late in the year, but only around 22 Brix when they tasted of honey and full of acidity. This Vineyard is truly world-class. Aged in neutral French oak for six months. Il Nido is a tropical and high acid, a playful food pairing for spicy and fatty foods.

Citrus and spring meadow, colors green and yellow, pea tendril, green tea-like tannins.
This Gruner is a blend of two amazing vineyards at 1500ft on the cliffs of Underwood. Being the first year of making Gruner Veltliner I didn't really know exactly what I was going to do with it. I destemmed most of it and tucked it away in the fermenter. I knew it would tell me when it was ready to be pressed. After two days on the skins it smelled of a spring meadow full of wildflowers. I knew it wasn’t going to get any better than that, so we pressed it immediately. The fished wine holds onto that freshness, but still has a touch of texture and richness.

ANDIAMO

750ML | $30

1500ML| $50

The grapes come from a steeply sloped Hillside Vineyard on the backside of The Dalles, Oregon. The deep alluvial soil lends itself to the fruit and dust of the wine. Picked around 22.5 Brix the wine is well balanced with a fresh acidity that makes ready to drink. The wine was aged in 228l and 300l barrels for 7 months and then blended together right before bottling. Goes well with thickly sliced cured meats possibly during a spring picnic or summer dinner party with good friends.

BRUTTO NOBILE

Brutto Nobile or the “Ugly Noble” is Syrah from the Rocks District of Milton-Freewater AVA. The Rocks District sits just below the Washington border in the Walla Walla AVA. If you ask me, the terroir from the small AVA is as unique as the Willamette Valley. As soon as you stick your nose into a glass of this Syrah, you know exactly where it came from. You can smell the river rocks. Those rocks, that the AVA are named for, are baseball-size, blueish, brown, and go 100 feet down before there is any sort of hardpan. The vines translate that terroir into black olives, violets, and a lovely aroma of wet stone linger from start to finish. Who wouldn't want to drink this with a lamb tagine?

This Pinot Noir is a stunning example of high altitude Pinot from Underwood on the Washington side of the Gorge. Acadia Vineyard is an 80-acre property, farmed organically, and moving towards biodynamic practices under the new ownership of Jason Mann and team. Underwood fruit is always compelling but really thrives in hot years. The grapes maintain acidity and show off incredible vulcanic terroir, power, and the wine's light red fruits help hit every note.

This new skin-contact Chardonnay comes from the same Hillside Vineyard in The Dalles as the Merlot. We had to hand-destem two tons this year to avoid smoke from the stems and leaves. It also gave it the silky texture of my favorite Italian dessert, Panna Cotta. Left on the skins for an average of two weeks the wine is savory and complex, this is an orange wine that everyone can love.

This demi-sweet barrel-aged solera vermouth is made from skin-contact Pinot Grigio and local grape brandy and lightly sweetened with local honey from the slopes of Mount Hood. Aromatized with a balance of turmeric, ginger, chamomile, orange peel, and bitter roots, Buona Notte Vermouth is made to be enjoyed on ice accompanied only by an orange peel. The formula is strong enough to withstand whiskey and delicate enough to add vodka or gin for a beautiful, new twist on a martini.
